Maarikanpuisto is a green area owned by the City of Vantaa, which features an allotment plot area. The area is intended for everyone interested in urban agriculture and organic growing. It offers city residents the opportunity to grow their own vegetables, berries, and flowers in a peaceful environment. 

 Spring Work Bee – Saturday, May 16th, 2026

Welcome to the traditional Maarukanmetsä allotment garden spring work bee!

Time: Saturday, May 16th, starting at 10:00 AM.

Location: The traditional BBQ area and allotment plots.

Catering: The Workers' Association will provide coffee and grilled sausages starting at 12:00 PM.

On the Agenda:

Plot Tilling: The plot manager will be present with a tilling machine. The price for tilling is 10 € per plot (to cover fuel and maintenance costs).

Community Matters: Starting at 12:00 PM, we will discuss area cleanliness, clearing the ditches, water distribution, and the formation of a new committee for daily operations.

Before the Event:

The plot manager will organize small-scale independent tasks for groups, such as the acquisition and spreading of soil and fertilizer, as well as other necessary assistance. Please contact the plot manager if you would like to participate in these tasks before the official work bee date.
